Here's another version.  A little less northward, maybe more time to explore Wyoming.

I just ordered a couple of books of maps.  One is a 2014 Rand McNally road atlas.  And another is the Wyoming book from a series of road and recreation atlases by Benchmark.  I really enjoyed poring over the dead-tree New Mexico map I got for free somewhere on the last trip.  And it's pretty useful to be able to plan a few days ahead even if you don't have internet where you're camped. Besides, maps are inherently cool.

And I promise to remember that the map is not the territory, as Korzybski reminded us!
